Christmas Part 1

We spent Christmas in Colorado again this year. We are working on establishing some new traditions out here. On Christmas Eve, we had dinner and opened presents with the Tarlini's. On Christmas Day, we had our family (Tarlini's, Juan/Nikki, Cory) to our house for dinner (and some Big Buck Hunter thanks to Rah).

Yurt Trip #2

We took another yurt trip with Nana, Grandpa Ron and Emily. Although, while the rest of us snow shoed, Maggie decided to ride on a sled that Daddy pulled. She called him her reindeer and yelled "Ho ho ho"

Snow Day

Daddy had a snow day from work, so we snow shoed (not sure how to spell that :)) to the park to play!

Snowball Fight

We had an usual snow for Denver, where the snow was heavy and would actually pack (it's usually too dry here). After coming home from dinner, we ended up having a giant snowball fight with Ack, Rah, Aunt Emily, Nana, Grandpa Ron and some friends. Maggie was inside watching from the window (in her Princess dress), when she looked out the window and said to her Grandpa "I've gotta get out there!".

Gingerbread Houses and Cookies

Maggie had the chance to make a Gingerbread house with Daddy and decorate cookies with her friend's Seth and Cassidy.

Yurt Trip #1

We went camping in a yurt in Golden Gate State park with Nikki and Juan. We also went snow shoeing ... Maggie loved it!

Caught "Red Handed"

Maggie was drawing... I checked on her after a couple of minutes to find her wearing a new red glove. It took about 2 baths for her hand to no longer be red/pink :)

Playing in the Snow

Lion King

y
Maggie's favorite movie (well, one of them) is the Lion King. For her birthday, we bought her tickets to see the Lion King musical when it came to Denver. She was so excited about it! There were a few parts in the play that were a little scary for her. She loved dressing up and getting to go out for ice cream :)

City Hall Lights

We celebrated the beginning of the Christmas season by watching the lights at City Hall get turned on. This year Maggie wasn't feeling great, so we only stayed for a few minutes.

Grant Girls

Thanksgiving 2011

Another Thanksgiving, another Turducken. This year, we didn't dress Maggie up like one too :)
We enjoyed a beautiful Colorado day and ate outside with many of our great friends and family members!

Austin, Texas

Maggie and Mommy took a weekend trip to Austin to see Mommy's friend, Bee and her boys Holden and Waker. Maggie had a great time playing with the boys!

"Home Depot Girl"

Maggie went to a construction themed birthday party for her little friend, Alec today. She came home with a Home Depot apron and a hard hat. She called herself a "Home Depot Girl". She was drawing a picture of her and Donnie. If you look close you can see the picture... it's the first picture of a person that really looks like a person! I thought she had help from Daddy but then found out she did it by herself.

New Kids on the Block... next generation

Maggie found an old (although still in the original box) Donnie Wahlberg doll that was Mommy's. Mom decided it would be more fun to watch Maggie play with the doll then keep it in the box. He's been Maggie's sidekick (although she keeps forgetting his name) ever since!!

First Visit from the Tooth Fairy

After loosing her first tooth, we told Maggie about the Tooth Fairy. The next morning, she was not interested in looking under her pillow, but when we got home in the afternoon she was. Then she was excited about getting money. Although, she decided that the best thing to do with her money was to give 1 bill to Daddy and 1 bill to Mommy.

A Real Halloween Scare

On our way out the door to go to a pre-Trick or Treating party, Maggie took a fall down the three concrete steps in front of our house. Immediately there was a lot of blood (you can see it even got her Jesse costume). Once we realized that the bleeding was stopping we started to feel better but then noticed that her front tooth looked like it might be cracked. The next day we took her to a pediatric dentist (who was amazing and Maggie loved!)... three days later, Maggie had to be sedated to better examine her tooth. It was not able to be saved, so we came home with one less tooth. Maggie will have her first visit from the Tooth Fairy this year! We are so thankful that it was just a tooth, that she's already in less pain and that she still has a beautiful smile.

Boo at the Zoo

This year it was nice and warm when we went to Boo at the Zoo. Maggie enjoyed looking at all of the other costumes more than she wanted the candy :)

Reading a Book

Maggie has been trying to read "Yummy Yucky" all by herself lately. She is using the pictures and what she remembers us reading, to read most of the pages. She loves reading with us!

Happy Halloween

Buzz Lightyear, Jesse and Woody from Toy Story!

Carving Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins with Juan and Nikki. Maggie didn't want to put her hand inside of the pumpkin because she thought it was scary. She did insist on wearing her Jesse costume.

Another Teacher in the Family

Maggie was teaching her Jesse doll how to color. She was speaking really soft to her and kept saying "you are doing such a good job". It was so cute!
