Friend's Bowling Birthday Party

Maggie was so excited for her friend's birthday party. She loved shopping for a gift for her (she spent a long time picking out the perfect princess gift). She was excited to shower and dress up for the party. It was her first time getting to bowl. After a little hesitation with the shoes, she ended up loving how they felt and sounded on the floor (even when they were 3 sizes too big).

She predicted how many pins she'd knock over each time she was rolling the ball. Then she'd count the pins.

Taking a little break for some pizza.

Maggie was so excited to spend time with the birthday girl. She followed her everywhere. (The birthday girl is 1.5 years older than Maggie, but is so sweet and enjoys playing with her).

Maggie and the girls eating cupcakes.

Still wearing some cupcake, but enjoying the games (the same way Mom used to play ... Insert Coin).

Deer Creek Hike

This morning, we went for a hike at Deer Creek with Aunt Emily, Nana and Papa.
Mom and Emily got an extra workout in carrying Maggie. Maggie and Papa each collected a rock.

Maggie and Nana prepared a picnic lunch for us when we were finished.

Underwearness 5K

The whole Tarlini family (and Rah) did a 5K (through City Park) last night. After a 100 degree day, the race started at 6:30pm. Maggie ran the 1st mile with mom (in the jogging stroller) then road bikes with dad to cheer us on for the rest of the race. Everyone finished ... and ahead of the goals that we set!

Playtime with Seth

Maggie had a playdate today with her oldest friend, Seth. They had a blast playing outside in the sprinkler.

Seth encouraged Maggie to get her head wet, something she doesn't normally like to do.

They were waiting for a snack and chatting together :)

Donor Dash 2011

We all participated in the Donor Dash this year with Juan's work. It was a 5k that Maggie rode in with Dad and Juan (while Mom and Nikki ran). After the big race, Maggie had a chance to do a race of her own (the Diaper Dash). At the start, Maggie got a little scared and ended up not running... maybe next year!

Here we are in our LABS shirts (Juan's work). Juan, Nikki, Maggie, Mommy and Daddy.
After our race, trying to cool off (on a 95 degree day!)

Summer Trip to Illinois- Part II

She taught Papa and Aunt Emily how to play Ring Around the Rosie.

Maggie had fun hanging out with Aunt Emily.

She also played with her cousins (actually her 2nd cousins??).

After a big storm, Maggie helped Papa clean up the yard by collecting sticks. Maggie used her "thing with one wheel" (wheelbarrow) to collect and move the sticks.
Maggie also got to play at the park with her friends Ava and Mariano (not in the picture).

**The butterfly on Maggie's head is from falling on the drive way and splitting her head. She was really brave when it happened. It stopped bleeding quickly but she insisted on keeping the butterfly on.

Maggie's 1st Fish

Maggie went fishing at the Dixon ponds with Daddy (where he grew up fishing). She used her new fishing rod to catch her very first fish! Daddy was SO proud!

Summer Trip to Illinois

To start off July, we took a trip back to Illinois. We spent a week with each family. On the 4th of July, Maggie spent the day playing on the slip and slide at Aunt Alice's house. Then she loved watching the fireworks over the lake.

She took a trip to Wildlife Prairie Park.

Maggie enjoyed eating Aunt Casey's cereal! She was wearing her "makini" (she thinks it looks like a mermaid suit)

Maggie made sure to take care of Mingi's plants.

Maggie spent hours everyday swimming in this pool. She loved using water guns to spray everyone!

Swimming with Daddy.

Taking a nap after a swim (although, she's just pretending to be asleep).

Running through the water with Mingi.

Maggie picked out an outfit to match Mingi's.
