New Things...

Maggie has experienced a few new things in the last two days...

... a new president!

... getting her toes in her mouth (finally!)

... touching snow (even through it's been in the 60's there is still snow in the corner of the yard that doesn't get sun)

Colorado Native

For anyone who has been to Colorado, you can tell by the bumper stickers on cars who is a native of Colorado (they sure take an extreme amount of pride in that). So we were excited that Maggie can someday take part in the pride that comes with being born in Colorado. Yesterday we took her for her first hike. She slept almost the whole time except when a strong breeze would blow and wake her up. She buried her face in the side of her carrier so she couldn't feel the wind (FYI- Maggie doesn't like wind...she always makes faces when it blows on her). But she seemed comfortable being outdoors- she really is a Colorado girl.

Toes

Maggie LOVES her toes! She's playing with them ALL the time now. While we are changing her diaper, in restaurants, in her crib ... and she manages to get her socks off to play with her barefeet. Her latest exploration has been whether or not she is flexible enough to get her toes into her mouth! She is really close!

Playdates with Seth

Maggie has been having "playdates" with Seth Lane since they were only a few weeks old. Usually, both Seth and Maggie are oblivious to the fact that the other one is there. But this week they finally started interacting! They both seemed very confused but curious. It was adorable!

Maggie's Jump Seat

Maggie kind of loves her new jump swing. She is trying to use her leg muscles all the time already- so this is a great way for her to strengthen them and have fun! She spent about 45 minutes playing in it and smiled almost the whole time!

Maggie's Christmas Vacation

Here's Maggie in the middle of the 14 hour drive to Illinois. She did great both ways!
Maggie has been chewing on her hands for a few weeks... finally she was able to find her thumb. Now she's pretty good at getting her thumb on the first or second try.

Maggie helping dad open her presents from Santa.

Maggie's new cousin, Max, was born while we were home. She looked like a giant compared to him. It is amazing how much she has grown in three months.

Just looking pretty.

Maggie playing with Grandpa Ron's cat. The cat liked to sleep next to Maggie while she was home.
She already loves to read! Maggie was amused for a good amount of time in the car with books.

Rolly Pollie

Whew, long delay since I last updated the blog. Maggie, Brady and I took a two week trip back to Illinois for the holidays. Maggie got to spend lots of time with both sets of grandparents and meet lots of relatives and friends. It has been a great trip. During the time that we have been here Maggie has learned LOTS of new tricks... she can now suck her thumb, she's become a chatter box, she can grab her toes and as of today she can roll over! There are lots more pictures and videos to follow from our trip home but I forgot the camera cord in Denver, so check for more soon! We are excited about all of the fun new tricks that we are going to get to experience in 2009!
