Christmas Part 1

Maggie tried to convince us this year that she was not scared of seeing Santa. She was telling us what she was going to tell him she wanted for Christmas (an Elmo Backpack) and waved to him. But when it came time to see him... she screamed and wanted nothing to do with him, again.

Dad let Santa know what Maggie wanted, since she couldn't get it out. Later she retold the story of visiting Santa to some friends by saying that she was scared and crying... she didn't even try to hide it :)

Hangin out with Gapa Ron waiting for Christmas day...

Mom and Dad redid an empty room to become a playroom for Maggie. She was so excited to see all of her toys in one place. Obviously, Santa brought an Elmo backpack, which she wore all morning.

Equipped with a new bike horn and Elmo on her back, Maggie took a Christmas day bike ride. It was so warm in Denver we were outside without jackets and had the windows in the house open.

A masterpiece by Maggie... she named it "Moon and airplanes" (she's painting a circular moon in this picture)

No Peeky Roast Beefy... the oven door was taped closed and had a sign on it for anyone who was tempted to peek too soon!

Surprise Trip to Arizona to see GiGi

Maggie's Great Grandma (GiGi) turned 75 this year! So all of the family, flew down to Phoenix to surprise her. Here's Maggie on the airplane... she's such a great flyer- must be in the blood :)

We visited where the Cubs play for Spring Training. Maggie also decided to bite her Aunt Emily and got a Time Out at the stadium (Daddy was standing in the grassy section behind her- she's not alone :)).

A young Cubs fan!

Maggie got to stay in a hotel with Aunt Emily and Ack... and Mom and Dad, of course. She loved waking up and getting to hang out with her "friends" right away! Even brushing her teeth was fun!

Here's the family on GiGi's Birthday!

Putting up the Christmas Tree

Maggie loved putting up the Christmas Tree this year... well, not really the tree but taking the tree out of the box so that she could play in it. This game lasted for several days :)

Playdate with Seth

Maggie's Oldest Friend... Seth :)
They were sharing their fruit snacks and cracking up the whole time.

It's Christmas Time!

Every year, on the day after Thanksgiving, we go to the Court House to see the Christmas lights get turned on. This year, we had lots of friends come too... Ack, Rah, Juan, Nikki and Eric. Maggie loved running around the lawn and when the lights came on she thought it was "beautiful". She also let us know that she wanted to live in the "big house". :)

Turducken- Boom!

This year was the 5th Annual Thanksgiving Turducken (with a few-four-quails added in too). Here's the prep-team on Wednesday night. This is the first year that a girl helped prepare the birds- way to go Rah!

Maggie loved watching the prep (someday she'll help too). She kept making the noises that a turkey and a duck make though... kindof weird since they were being prepared to be eaten. We thought it was funny that she didn't like carving pumpkins but loved watching this.

Our friend, Patti, made a big yummy breakfast for us. Maggie ate all of her own food plus some of Mommy's and seconds!

Getting ready to eat dinner!

Yummy!

Crafting

Maggie is into coloring and "helping" Mommy do crafts. For our First Christmas craft of 2010:
Here's a tree skirt that I bought at Target for $2 at the end of last season. I thought it was kindof boring so I decided (with my helper) to spruce it up.

Now it's got some Hollyberries and it's not just blue!

Can't wait for all of the other crafts that I have planned to do with Maggie. :)
